THE MAN CLOTHED WITH LINEN WITH A WRITER'S INKHORN BY HIS SIDE

THE MAN CLOTHED WITH LINEN WITH A WRITER'S INKHORN BY HIS SIDE

Ezekiel 9:1

He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city [Jerusalem, where the Temple was located] to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

Ezekiel 9:2

And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

Ezekiel 9:3

And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;

Ezekiel 9:4

And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

Ezekiel 9:5

And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

Ezekiel 9:6

Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

Ezekiel 9:7

And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

Ezekiel 9:8

And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?

Ezekiel 9:9

Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, the LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.

Ezekiel 9:10

And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.

Ezekiel 9:11

And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

Ezekiel chapter nine sets a very harsh tone that is impossible for the carnal mind to even come close to comprehend mainly with members in the organized global church environments. Jerusalem is in view in the above passages of Ezekiel chapter nine.

Has anyone during Old Testament ancient days actually gone throughout Jerusalem with a cup full of ink (inkhorn) and placed a mark upon the foreheads of all those who sigh and mourn due to all of the abominations that were performed within the midst of this city?

An Impossible task because this is highly spiritual language spoken here.

The only one worthy of this task is our Sovereign Lord Jesus Christ and He is the one who places this mark or eternal SEAL upon the heads of all chosen believers.

Yes, chosen elected believers will mourn and sigh at all the abominations that are done within the midst of this spiritual city of Jerusalem, which is God’s global and corporate church turned spiritual harlot at the very end of time because of the abomination of desolation of Satan’s religious counterfeit army of Gog and Magog (Revelation 20:7-8) invading and ruling in her.

The man clothed with linen, which had the writer’s inkhorn by His side is indeed referring to the pre-incarnated Lord and Saviour Jesus. Reference verses dealing with the man who is clothed with linen are Ezekiel 10:2-7, Daniel 10:5, Revelation 1:12-20. He is Lord and Saviour and the “inkhorn” means a cup and/or an ink-stand.

In verse three we read that the glory of God was gone up from the cherub and called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer’s inkhorn and was told to set a mark in the midst of Jerusalem upon the chosen men of God that sigh and cry for all the abominations and all the wickedness that be done in the Temple and in the synagogues at that time. This is all symbolic and metaphorical language God is using.

The mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and cry in verse four speaks to the individuals who have the seal of the Holy Spirit of promise (Ephesians 1:13; Ephesians 4:30; II Corinthians 1:21-22; II Timothy 2:19, Revelation 7:3-4) in their foreheads who are written in the Lambs book of Life by the blessed Messiah who is the man clothed in linen that has the writer’s inkhorn to write the names in heaven.

Those who received the mark in their foreheads that sigh and cry for all the abominations that go on within the corporate/organized harlot congregations at the very end of time are indeed the chosen elect of God who are zealous for His holy name.

But behold there is another group of individuals who are not blessed with having the seal of approval of God’s Spirit in their foreheads within the global organized harlot congregations in reference to Jerusalem.

These individuals make up the majority of the individuals within the congregations at the very end of time who calls themselves true followers of Jesus, but are the two parts therein that shall be destroyed and cut off and eternally judged by God as stated in Zechariah 13:8.

The pre-incarnated Messiah who was the man clothed in linen with the writer’s inkhorn speaks to Ezekiel in verses five and six and commands him to go after them through the city of Jerusalem and smite them.

The LORD commands Ezekiel to not let his eye spare, neither have any pity. And slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women. This sounds very harsh to the carnal minded person who makes a profession to be a true believer but is truly not saved and has never been born from above by God the Holy Spirit.

Also the pre-incarnated Jesus commands Ezekiel not to come near any man who has the mark, but begin at my sanctuary in verse six. This is very significant that the LORD commands Ezekiel to start the slaughter of the masses within the house of God.

This goes in harmony with the overall theme throughout the Holy Bible where Judgment must begin at the house of God (Jeremiah 25:16-18). The lost outside world in general are going to be punished by Christ, but God’s anger is directed first at His so-called people.

They have utterly profaned His holy name. And the LORD God is jealous for His name’s sake. God is a jealous God. For His name is Jealous (Exodus 20:5, Exodus 34:14, Deuteronomy 4:24, Deuteronomy 5:9, Deuteronomy 6:15, Joshua 24:19). And He has every right to be jealous for the utter wickedness and abominations committed within the harlot corporate church bodies worldwide and of the outside lost world for Hecreated us to serve His will and to perform His purpose and to be of His good pleasure.

This command by God to Ezekiel in his flesh was very grievous to handle, but in the Spirit he was willing and able. Ezekiel agonizes heavily throughout the whole ordeal while they were slaying the inhabitants of Jerusalem with the Holy Word of God that is spiritually compared to a sword (Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12), and when it came down to only him left, he fell down upon his face and cried, and said, Ah Sovereign GOD will you destroy all the remnant of Israel in thy wrath against Jerusalem!

Today, it is so very hard within the land of Christendom to witness the pure Word of God to anyone who is a part of the global corporate/organized church bodies. There are so many different types of denominations of Christ along with their respectative doctrines where most teach contrary to the truth of God’s Word that they because of these abominable spiritual high places have to this current day become apostate.

Currently towards the very end of time we are exactly in the same shoes as Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah, Haggai, and Zechariah just to name a few brothers in Christ during the seventy-year captivity of the literal king of Babylon.

They were all led away as captives from Jerusalem, the Old Testament state church, into the land of Babylon, which symbolically depicts the whole world in general that lies in complete spiritual darkness.
